It's June and it's time to share our very first Resource of the Month! I'll be highlighting a different resource each month, usually from TPT, that I think you might enjoy or find useful for your classroom.

This month, we are looking at classroom decor. Teachers are about to step back into a physical classroom for the first time in a year - or, at least their students are. (I know some teachers had to teach from their empty classrooms). So, we definitely want to create a wholesome and welcoming learning environment that also encourages and promotes learning.

Positive Affirmations ABCs Poster bundle

To that end, I give you the Positive Affirmations ABCs Posters. This is a large poster set that I made that features the alphabet along with positive affirmations and words. Some features of the posters include:

  • Bright cheerful colors

  • Funky fonts

  • Prints beautifully in black and white

  • 106 pages (PDF, zipped file)

  • Size: 8.5" x 11" (so, a standard piece of paper)

  • 2 word choices for each letter

  • Bundle Price: $22.40 USD

Now, the link above is for the bundle, but from there you can choose from two options (I just linked the bundle for ease of access). The two options are:

  • Alphabet with matching sentences (A is for Awesome because you are Awesome)

    • Price: $15 USD (53 pages)

  • Alphabet with matching word (A is for Awesome)

    • Price: $13 USD (53 pages)

These are ideal for brightening up any classroom and helping to create a positive classroom community. They are great reminders to students to think positively about themselves and others. Additionally, it's such a fun way to incorporate new vocabulary into the classroom.

You can absolutely use these in conjunction with your letter strips (the ones that show how to properly form letters) so students of all ages can benefit from them without losing access to skill building tools. In fact, these posters would be a great addition to classroom word walls!

If size is an issue, you can easily scale down by using the options in Adobe Reader that allow you to print multiple on a page. This shrinks them down to half a page size or more, depending on the parameters you put in. (And Adobe Reader is free to download and, in my opinion, the best program for working with PDF files).

I think these are also great for issuing reminders to students who are struggling or aren't making the best choices. Being able to point to a letter and say "Remember, you are honest, so let's make sure we are being honest with our friends" or "Let's be courageous and try something new" is something I wish I had had in my first year of teaching. Those visual reminders that students can connect with go a long way in improving behavior and promoting a positive classroom community.

Side note: my resources aren't just for typical school classrooms. Homeschool, preschool, church/Sunday school classrooms, etc. are all welcome to use any resources of mine that fit the needs of your students. These posters would absolutely work in any of those settings! Basically, if you think it might be a good fit for you, then it is.

So, welcome your students back to the classroom with something bright, cheerful, and positive this year! If you try out this resource, I'd love to know how you use it in your classroom and how it's working out for you - leave a review on TPT, for sure, but also stop by here and leave a comment. I'm excited for this school year to be a great one!

Happy planning, teachers!
